Two agents with deep Kingwood ties have teamed up to form a new company, the Imperato Fazzino Real Estate Group in northeast Houston. Along with typical showings, open houses and meetings that make up a Realtors’ standard workday, both agents have seen their calendars fill up with pro-bono Harvey-related consultations and advice sessions for Kingwood residents thinking about next steps six months after the storm.
Joan Imperato and Kim Fazzino have lived in Kingwood for decades. Imperato, a real estate veteran with 32 years in the business, said she attended community meetings and started getting calls from homeowners asking for advice, wanting to know what their home was worth pre-Harvey and what it’s worth now. Her partner Kim Fazzino gets those same calls.
“People were confused in the beginning,” said Imperato, an agent with RE/MAX Associates Northeast who ranked seventh place for sales volume in HBJ’s 2017 Residential Real Estate Awards for teams of less than 10.

Fazzino, also an agent with Re/Max, estimates about half of her day can be spent advising flooded-out homeowners. She’s helped pick out the best tile paint color for resale, provided cost estimates for various scenarios (what it would take to fix up a home versus putting it up for sale) and taken people out for numerous showings.
“It’s about supporting the community,” Fazzino said. She started her business in 2012 after being a stay-at-home mom for 17 years. Imperato said it was Fazzino’s attention to detail and knowledge that caught her eye and got her thinking perhaps the two could join forces.
“After so many years in the business, I thought I don’t need to do this by myself anymore,” Imperato said. “Having a partner is wonderful to share ideas, get opinions and really work with customers. Every once in a while, it gets a little hairy and it’s nice to ask, ‘can you help me out with this?’”
The Imperato Fazzino Real Estate Group has six licensed agents, including Imperato and Fazzino, and four support staff members.
